PATTERN INSPIRATION

The Fall/Winter 2014 Collection of bridal and evening gowns blends sleek sophistication with an ethereal, bohemian mood.  The patterns and embroidery in the collection are soft and feminine but are less delicate than traditional floral motifs.  The look is a modern take on romantic style; with bold pattern replacing the typical fragile laces.  As in previous collections, elements from the natural world are a point of reference, with embroidery taking the form of leafy vines and lace patterned after peacock feathers.  The inspiration behind these fashion-forward patterns came from various decorative styles ranging from Moroccan to Art Nouveau.

FW14 Pattern Inspiration1-2.  These Art Nouveau pieces inspired a symmetrical lace pattern of graduated peacock feathers.

5.  The intricately carved arches of a Moroccan palace inspired the use of delicate geometric patterns.

6.  Lush vine embroidery on silk organza from the collection.

7.  Crisp paisley offers a graphic take on delicate floral motifs.

SPRING/SUMMER 2014 COLLECTION

“Spring’s muse is the dashing adventurer.   In the romantic tradition of Kipling and Stevenson, looks combine the rugged appeal of utilitarian workwear with the soft draping and ornate embellishment of far-off lands.  The deep scarlet of a military uniform is set against the aged white of sun-bleached cotton.  Rich earth tones are paired with oceanic blues and stormy grey accented by glints of silver and gold.”
